Bloomily vs. ACTIVE Network
Choose Bloomily when you run a day camp by the week and want registration, deposits, counselor check-in on iPhone and group photo albums in one product. ACTIVE Network offers Camp & Class Manager for camps and classes, and ACTIVENet for parks departments and YMCAs, so ask which one fits your camp before you compare.

ACTIVE Network in its own words
ACTIVE Network describes two products that camps use. Camp & Class Manager says: "From summer camps and after-school programs to enrichment classes and community education, CCM brings registration, payments, attendance, communications, and more together" (Camp & Class Manager). ACTIVENet "helps parks & rec departments, YMCAs, and community recreation providers operate more efficiently". It says it supports "summer day camps and complex licensed child care operations" (ACTIVENet).
On its camp page, parents register several children in one go and can add funds to camp accounts (ACTIVE camps). The Camp & Class Manager features page lists card payments, payment plans and automatic billing. When a spot opens, an email invitation goes to the first registrant on the waitlist. Staff mark attendance from any device, send texts about schedule changes, and track forms and waivers. Camps can also be listed on ACTIVEKids.com and ACTIVE.com (Camp & Class Manager features). The Connect app runs either product on iOS or Android tablets. A photo pops up for staff each time a parent checks a child in or out (ACTIVE Connect app).
Where Bloomily fits a day camp better
Bloomily's camp pages describe the day-camp week: the weeks families pick, the groups campers sit in, and check-in at the door.
Weeks with their own places. Families register from your camp's own page and pay a deposit. Each week has its own capacity, and a full week keeps a waiting list. The next family gets any place that opens (Bloomily for camps). A family picks exactly the weeks it wants, and each week keeps its own price (Bloomily camp registration).
A deposit, then the balance bill. Deposits come in at registration. The balance bill is made for you, due the Friday before the week (Bloomily features). Camp weeks and add-ons, such as before care, after care or lunch, land on one family balance with one autopay (Bloomily camps and programs).
Check-in on a phone, or at the door. Counselors check campers in and out from the staff app on iPhone (Bloomily camp registration). Families check in and out at the kiosk with a PIN, or on their own phone (Bloomily for camps). Any iPad can become a self-service check-in station at your entrance (Bloomily staff app).
Groups, photos and messages. Campers sit in groups, and counselors share a photo album with each group (Bloomily camp registration). Families see it in the parent app on iPhone or Android (Bloomily for parents). A parent sets their language once. Your messages arrive translated, and their replies come back in yours (Bloomily family communication).
What to check if you rely on ACTIVE's listings and range of programs
ACTIVE's pages describe reach and range. Camps can be listed on ACTIVEKids.com and ACTIVE.com, and parents can add funds to camp accounts. Its products cover camps, classes, parks departments and YMCAs. If those listings bring families to you today, weigh that before you move.
In Bloomily, you open a camp week and families can register on your page (Bloomily website builder). Your programs publish to your own page on a bloomily.app address (Bloomily for parks and recreation). Ask both companies how families find your camp, and where they land when they do.
If you run classes or clinics beside camp, list each program you sell, and ask ACTIVE which product covers all of them. Bloomily's camp pages describe the camp week.
Moving from ACTIVE Network to Bloomily
Bring the list you keep today, as it is. AI help does the reading. That can be a spreadsheet, another system's export, a PDF or a photo of a paper list. Nothing saves until you approve it.
When you are ready, send each family one invite. Their child is already on their account. Keep your old system running beside Bloomily as long as you like (Switching to Bloomily).
Questions to ask in both demos
- Which product fits a single day camp, and what does it cost, including processing?
- Can a counselor check in a camper on an iPhone, and see only their own group?
- Can families pay a deposit, with the balance charged on a set date?
- Is there a photo album families see, and who can see each photo?
- What can parents do in the family app, and is it in the App Store?
- Can staff and parents message each other both ways?
- How are weekly capacity and daily counselor groups set up for a multi-week camp?
Which one fits your camp
Choose Bloomily when your day camp wants weekly registration, deposits, the morning check-in and group photos in one system. If you sell classes and clinics beside camp, or count on ACTIVE's listings, ACTIVE's pages speak to that. See Bloomily for camps and Bloomily's camp pricing.
