Bloomily vs. Remind
Choose Bloomily when your preschool or after-school program wants translated family messages tied to check-in, pickup, enrollment and tuition. Remind, now part of ParentSquare, describes texts, translation and urgent alerts, so ask which product it sells a program like yours.

Remind in its own words
Remind calls itself "a communication platform for teachers and for organizations outside of K-12 schools and districts" (Remind). It is now part of ParentSquare. A September 2026 post says Remind Hub is now sold to new customers only outside K-12 schools and districts. It names camps and after-school programs among the groups Remind serves. It says Remind will share more about changes for them early next year (The next chapter for Remind). Remind Chat is "free, two-way messaging for teachers and coaches" (Remind Chat).
Remind Hub sends notifications by SMS text, app and email. It translates automatically into each recipient's preferred language, including by text. Hub shares and collects forms and keeps a full record of message history. Its real-time alerts "override standard notification preferences" (Remind Hub). Hub publishes no price; its plan card says "Contact Us."
Where Bloomily fits a preschool or after-school program better
Messages are one part of your day. Bloomily ties them to the rest of it.
Messages that reach every family. A parent sets their language once. Your messages arrive translated, and theirs come back in yours (Bloomily communication). Broadcasts go out by push and email immediately, and quiet hours never hold an urgent message. Family messaging and text messages are on Bloomily's paid plan (Bloomily preschool pricing). Messages run between your team and each family.
Arrival and pickup on record. Families check in at a tablet by the door with the last 4 digits of their phone, then a PIN (Bloomily check-in). Parents add pickup people, each with their own PIN, and the office can remove them. Attendance shows who arrived, who went home and who picked them up (Bloomily for before and after school).
Forms that land on the family's record. Parents finish applications from the couch, with custom forms, uploads and digital signatures (Bloomily online enrollment). Missing signatures get reminders in each family's language until the packet is done. Waitlists promote the next family (Bloomily enrollment).
The day, written down. Staff log activities, capture photos and send daily reports to parents from the staff app (Bloomily staff app). Families get notified when their child is checked in or out, and when reports are ready (Bloomily parent app).
Tuition without chasing. Tuition bills on your charge day, and families on autopay pay without a nudge (Bloomily for preschools). In an after-school program, set your late-pickup fee once. Each late pickup waits for you to charge or waive. Before care, after care and early-release days sit on your district's calendar (Bloomily for before and after school).
When Remind is enough
If your program needs one job done, reaching families fast, Remind's pages describe that job: texts, app and email, translation, forms and urgent alerts. A program that keeps attendance on paper and collects fees another way may find that enough.
Look at Bloomily when you want each message to sit next to the child's record. A pickup change, a late fee and a missing form are then handled from the same family account as the messages. Families get one app for updates, check-in and the bill.
Remind's post says changes for organizations outside K-12 are coming. Before you commit for the school year, ask Remind what will change, and when.
Moving from Remind to Bloomily
Bring the list you keep today, as it is. AI help does the reading. That can be a spreadsheet, another system's export, a PDF or a photo of a paper list. Nothing saves until you approve it.
When you are ready, send each family one invite. Their child is already on their account. Keep your old system running beside Bloomily as long as you like (Switching to Bloomily).
Questions to ask in both demos
- Which product do you sell to a private preschool or an after-school program, and what does it cost?
- Can families pay tuition or fees, with autopay, in the same app as their messages?
- Can staff check children in and out, and record who picked each child up?
- Can teachers send a daily report for each child?
- Can families apply online, sign forms and join a waitlist?
- How do urgent messages reach a family that has turned notifications down?
- What is changing in the product over the next school year?
