Bloomily vs. KidKare
Choose Bloomily when your preschool or childcare center wants check-in, room ratios, daily reports, family messages and tuition to work as one system. KidKare describes tools for monthly food program claims, with Parachute for billing and attendance, so decide which job matters most.

KidKare in its own words
KidKare says its tools help sponsors, single-location childcare centers and family childcare providers process their monthly Food Program claims (About KidKare). For sponsors, it manages "menus, attendance, point-of-service meal counts, reviews, claims and more" (KidKare for sponsors). For a single-location center, its food program page says it "automatically checks enrollment status, meal counts, servings, and ages." It flags disallowed meals before you submit. It also builds menus that flag missing meal components. Its eForms handle enrollment and income eligibility in English and Spanish (KidKare Food Program).
KidKare also sells Parachute, a billing and attendance tool for centers and family childcare. Its page says parents can pay tuition, fees and deposits by card or bank account once they get your invoices. It lists online payments and autopay. Check-in can use PIN codes, digital signatures or QR codes. The page describes attendance built to meet state requirements for subsidies, and it offers a 30-day free trial (Parachute by KidKare).
Where Bloomily fits a childcare center better
Bloomily is built around a center's day: the door, the rooms, the families and the tuition that pays for it.
A morning door that feeds the rooms. Families check in at a tablet by the door with the last 4 digits of their phone and a PIN. Or the family app shows a code, and the kiosk reads it (Bloomily check-in). Each room then shows who is in it and whether it has enough teachers (Bloomily for preschools). Ratios come from real check-ins of children and staff, not from the schedule (Bloomily classrooms).
A day families can see. At 3:30 PM teachers finish the day's report and add photos. Families get it in the app and by email (Bloomily for preschools). A parent sets their language once. Your messages arrive translated, and their replies come back in yours (Bloomily communication).
Tuition that collects on its own. Tuition bills on your charge day, and families on autopay pay without a nudge (Bloomily for preschools). Invoices itemize tuition, fees, discounts and subsidy splits. When a card fails, the family gets a prompt to update it, and the payment retries on its own (Bloomily billing). Families pay by card or bank transfer, and the money goes to your own Stripe account (Bloomily payments).
Enrollment before the first day. A parent finds you at 7 PM and books a tour from your website. They are on your list by morning, and offers, forms, deposits and waitlists follow (Bloomily enrollment).
What to check if you rely on KidKare's food program tools
Start with the plain fact. Bloomily does not run the CACFP food program, track food program meals or file claims. If your center claims CACFP reimbursement, KidKare's food program tools are built for that job.
So the real question is which jobs you want each system to do. If you keep KidKare for the food program, ask both companies where attendance and enrollment get entered. Then ask who keeps the two systems matched. Bring one month from a real room to that conversation.
If you use Parachute today, list the billing jobs you rely on: invoices, card and bank payments through ParaPay, autopay and check-in. Ask KidKare whether Parachute's parent app and daily activity log are available to centers today, and what they include. Then ask Bloomily to run the same month of tuition, with one failed card and one subsidized family.
Moving from KidKare to Bloomily
Bring the list you keep today, as it is. AI help does the reading. That can be a spreadsheet, another system's export, a PDF or a photo of a paper list. Nothing saves until you approve it.
When you are ready, send each family one invite. Their child is already on their account. Keep your old system running beside Bloomily as long as you like (Switching to Bloomily). If you claim CACFP, that can mean keeping KidKare for the food program.
Questions to ask in both demos
- Which jobs does each product cover for a center today: enrollment, check-in, ratios, daily reports, tuition, food program claims?
- Are the parent app and daily activity log available to centers today, and what do families see in them?
- Is there an online waitlist and tour booking for families who are not yet enrolled?
- How does billing handle a part-time rate, or two children on one family bill?
- What card and bank processing fees apply, and can the center pass them to families?
- Can a director see live room ratios from check-ins of children and staff?
- Are lesson plans or developmental assessments included?
Which one fits your center
Choose Bloomily when you want the door, the rooms, the daily report, family messages and tuition to work as one system. If food program claims are your biggest job, KidKare's tools are made for them. The two can also run side by side. See Bloomily for preschools and Bloomily's preschool pricing.
